Dublin’s Marker Hotel has launched a new summer rooftop menu and now it’s the only place we want to eat this weekend. The fact that it includes ice cream macaron sandwiches direct from LA is just an added bonus!
We love eating outdoors at this time of year, and when a new summer menu includes ice cream macaron sandwiches we can’t refuse! A scoop of ice cream replaces the flavoured filling that is sandwiched between the two macaron cookies and these insta-worthy treats have been a huge hit in LA and London with queues of people lining up to try them. Executive Chef Gareth Mullins has brought the concept to the Dublin docklands with three delectable flavours vanilla, passion fruit and cocoa maroon priced €8 or smaller versions for groups priced €4.
The rooftop has also introduced some tropical escapism with a range of Tiki cocktails served in authentic ceramic Tiki Mugs. These rum based, well balanced cocktails, contain tropical fruits and spices and originally from South Pacific but can be enjoyed in the heart of Grand Canal Square priced €14 each.
The rooftop also supports a number of Irish gin suppliers including the newly launched Míl Gin which is produced in small batches and distilled with beautifully paired flavours. It also includes Shortcross – a classical Gin style but with a unique floral twist and an exceptionally long aftertaste and finish.
The new menu ‘Grazing on the Rooftop’ includes a selection of delicious hot dogs (with a twist) with options like Belderrig lobster, smoked short rib of Irish beef or classic pork sausage from €13. Grazing sharing plates serve 3-4 people and include options from the sea, soil and farm and start from €26.
